Creator Spotlight of the Week: Michelle (@readysetglamour)
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’ve always had an affinity for makeup and beauty; I worked in the industry as a writer and a publicist before starting my own YouTube channel. Aside from my love of makeup and fashion, I enjoy watching movies, cooking, and traveling.
What inspired you to start a beauty and lifestyle Instagram channel?
I’ve been a longtime viewer of beauty videos on YouTube and in the back of my mind I would always think of how cool it would be to have my own channel and to connect with other people who have the same passion for beauty as I do. It’s something I wanted to start for a very long time because nobody in my personal life really loved makeup as much as I do and I was just amazed at the beauty community on YouTube and how tight it was. One day, with the encouragement of my husband, I had the courage to film my very first video and the rest is history!
What are some of your favorite beauty product(s), MUST haves?
A good BB Cream for everyday (I love the Maybeline Dream Pure BB Cream), a concealer that can cover my dark circles (my current favorite is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer) and an all over face bronzer (my holy grail is the Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster). And for lips (because I’m obsessed with lip products!) MAC Crème Cup is my go-to!
What are some of your favorite events you have attended as a beauty/lifestyle creator?
The NYX Cosmetics after party during IMATS weekend was really fun because I got to meet a ton of other YouTubers. A Physician’s Formula event I went to not too long ago was super intimate and we got to hear all about their newest products – I liked that it was smaller because I had the chance to actually talk to every person individually. I feel super lucky to be able to attend all these beauty events - to be able to connect with brands whose products helped me discover my love of makeup as a teen is really humbling.
Tell us about some brands you have loved working with on Aspire?
Paula’s Choice was a fun one because I got to speak with them personally about my skincare concerns!
